Dubai V-Class VIP Conversion Cost Guide (2026)
What a V-Class VIP Conversion Costs in Dubai
A VLine Design V-Class VIP conversion starts at AED 475,000 plus VAT and runs to AED 899,000 plus VAT across four packages. Those figures include the vehicle. Build time is four to eight weeks, and the finished car carries a two-year VLine warranty alongside the manufacturer warranty, which the conversion does not affect.
The four packages
Prices are quoted in UAE dirhams, exclusive of VAT, and include the Mercedes-Benz V-Class itself.
| Package | Price (excl. VAT) | With 5% VAT |
|---|---|---|
| Luxury Edition | AED 475,000 | AED 498,750 |
| VIP Edition | AED 649,000 | AED 681,450 |
| V-VIP Edition | AED 749,000 | AED 786,450 |
| VV-VIP Edition | AED 899,000 | AED 943,950 |
The ladder is deliberate rather than arbitrary. The largest single step is the first one, from Luxury to VIP, because that is where the cabin stops being an upgraded passenger vehicle and becomes a purpose-built executive space. The steps above it refine rather than redefine.
What is included at each level is set during specification, not from a catalogue, because two buyers at the same price point frequently want different things. Ask for the written scope of the package you are considering before comparing it with anything else.
"Vehicle included" is the detail that breaks most comparisons
This is the single most important line in this guide, and it is the one most often missed when buyers collect quotes.
Many conversion quotes cover the conversion only. The customer supplies the van, or buys it separately, and the quoted figure is for labour and materials. A quote structured that way will always look cheaper than one that includes the vehicle, even when the finished car costs more.
Before you compare two numbers, establish what each one contains. A conversion-only quote plus a new V-Class is a different transaction from a turnkey price, and only one of them is a number you can actually budget against. If a quote does not state explicitly whether the vehicle is included, it is not yet a quote.
VAT: what you actually pay
UAE VAT is charged at the standard rate of 5%, which is the figure in the third column above. On the entry package that is AED 23,750; at the top of the range it is AED 44,950.
There is a meaningful exception for buyers outside the country. Exports from the UAE are generally zero-rated rather than standard-rated, provided the export conditions are met and the supporting documentation is complete and retained. Requirements here are strict and have been tightened, so treat zero-rating as something to be confirmed for your specific transaction rather than assumed. If the vehicle is leaving the UAE, raise it at the quotation stage, not after the invoice is issued.
What moves the number
Regardless of where a build sits on the ladder, the same handful of decisions account for most of the difference between one price and another:
- Seating architecture. Seat count, seat type, powered functions and movement rails. This is usually the largest single line in a VIP build.
- Material level. Leather grade, stitching pattern, and the extent of wood or composite trim.
- Electronics. Screens, audio, cabin control, charging and connectivity.
- Climate engineering. Rear-cabin cooling capacity, which in this region is not a luxury item but a functional requirement.
- Partition and privacy. Whether the cabin is separated, and how thoroughly.
Climate deserves particular attention in the Gulf, because it is the area where a build most visibly succeeds or fails in August. Our guide to extra AC installation on the V-Class explains what rear-cabin cooling actually involves and why factory capacity is rarely sufficient once a cabin has been rebuilt.
What the price includes beyond the build
Two things are worth stating plainly, because they carry real financial value and are not always offered elsewhere.
The manufacturer warranty is not affected. VLine Design is a Mercedes-Benz van partner, and the conversion does not void the Mercedes warranty; the two-year mechanical cover continues to run through Mercedes in the normal way.
The conversion carries its own two-year warranty. VLine warrants its own design and workmanship for two years, separately from and in addition to the manufacturer cover.
When comparing prices, weigh this properly. A cheaper conversion that puts your manufacturer warranty in question is not cheaper; it has moved a cost from the invoice into your risk.
Timing
A build takes four to eight weeks depending on specification and parts availability. The variables that most often extend a project are supply lead times on specific materials and mid-project changes to the specification. If you have a fixed delivery date, say so at the outset. Our guide on how long a Mercedes VIP conversion takes in the UAE breaks the schedule down stage by stage.
Questions that make two quotes comparable
Price alone tells you very little until these are answered in writing:
- Is the vehicle included, and which model year and specification?
- What is the finished kerb weight, and how much payload remains?
- What warranty applies to the conversion, and what happens to the manufacturer warranty?
- What rear-cabin cooling capacity is being fitted?
- What is the delivery date, and what would move it?
The weight question in particular tends to be revealing. A workshop that has engineered a build knows what it weighs.
Common questions
Is the price negotiable by specification?
The packages are structured tiers rather than a fixed menu; scope is agreed before work begins, which is where the conversation about what you actually need belongs.
Do you take trade-ins?
No. Buy-back is considered case by case depending on the vehicle, but it is not something we offer as standard, so it should not be assumed as part of your cost calculation.
Can I supply my own V-Class?
Discuss it at enquiry stage. The published prices above are structured around a supplied vehicle, so a customer-supplied van is a different conversation.
Do prices include registration and insurance?
Ask for confirmation in writing for your specific order rather than assuming either way — this is exactly the kind of item that makes two quotes look different when they are not.
Where to start
Most buyers arrive with a budget and no clear sense of what separates one tier from the next. That is the right time to talk, not after a deposit. Settle the use case first — who travels in the vehicle, how often, and in what conditions — and the package usually selects itself.
VLine Design has completed more than 600 conversions from its Al Quoz workshop in Dubai since 2021. Our V-Class VIP conversion service page sets out how a build is scoped, and our team can confirm what a given package includes for your requirement before anything is committed.
